Rules & Regulations

1. League play is 60 games over a 20-week period, plus playoffs.

2. Games are about 23 minutes long and begin promptly so be on time, if you are unable to attend, tell the captain or assistant ahead of time, especially goalies so arrangements can be made.

3. Cost is $60 per person to be paid in by the end of October.

4. Remember we're playing just for fun so no bullshit or mouthing.

5. We ref ourselves and penalties will be called as seen fit by the captain or assistants. All offenders will be asked to sit until the next shift.

6. No sliding, although you can drop to block shots. We are just playing for fun and want to reduce injuries.

7. Fighting will not be tolerated, and you will be banned from league play. You will not get your money refunded.

8. All disputes on the floor, this includes goals, penalties or out of play balls, will be handled by the captains or assistants. President has the final say on all matters.

9. No black tape on sticks, no wooden-bladed sticks and no black-soled sneakers as they do leave marks on the gymnasium floor.

10. No drugs or alcohol are permitted in the school or on school premises. We do not want to lose the use of the New Maryland school gym.

11. Watch the language, especially by the end of the day as there are kids in the hall waiting to come in and can hear everything we say. We'll close the door to muffle it, but, if we could look into turning it down a bit, that would be great.

12. All teams make the playoffs, which run two to three weeks at the end of the regular season.

13. If the ball hits the backboard or the divider screen on the ceiling, it is declared a dead ball, and it will turned over to the opposing team.

14. Do not cross the floor during a game. You are to remain on one side of the gym until the games ends.

15. Teams and players playing in the game are to sit together on the stage side, while the others are to sit on the opposite side. This is to avoid any confusion of who's playing and who is not.

Important Notes:

1. Teams will be allowed to borrow another player, only in order to have enough to play their games. Teams can also borrow a goalie from another team. The borrowed player and goalie stats will not count towards his final statistics.

2. Teams should be on time for each game, as we only have the floor until 2 p.m. If too much time is taken, it could result in a default. Games will begin even if the goalie is not between the pipes. If you are going to be late or unable to make, especially goalies, contact your captain or an assistant.

3. Any team wishing to have a meeting or a team function are to notify the president, and he will reserve the Blue Room at the Northside Dooley's, free of charge.

4. Any concerns or questions, contact Doug Taylor at 451-0197 or Phil Cronkite at 459-1088.

Let's enjoy a fun, safe and competitive season!!
