Flames Go 3-0 For The Week

HB Tie Collective For First Place

The Flames

The Flames went 3-0 this past week giving them 6 wins in their last 7 games after only winning 4 out of their first 23 games. They won their first game 6-4 against HB with Scott Praught picking up the hattrick. In their 2nd game, Jim Taylor and Dave Whitten both had hattricks in the 9-7 win over the Predators. Their 3rd win of the day came in a 3rd consecutive win over the Collective with Dave picking up his 2nd consecutive hattrick. Jim led his team's scoring for the day with 16 points which included 6 goals. Dave also had 6 goals on the day.

The Hung and The Breastless

The Hung and Breastless went 2-1 on the day, which brings them even with the Collective for 1st place. They started the day with a 3-1 win over the Predators before losing to the Flames, 4-6, who seem to be on a hot streak. No pun intended. They rebounded in their next game with a 4-1 win against the Collective, on the strength of Darryl Moorcraft's goaltending. HB added a new player, James McKinnon, who had 6 points in his debut. Welcome to the league James. Dan LeBlanc led his team's scoring for the day with 8 points, which included 5 goals.

The Collective

The Collective went 1-2 for the 2nd week in a row, allowing HB to tie them for 1st place. The Collective started the day finally winning 3-1 win over the Predators, with Rick Haines scoring an empy net goal, after going winless against them in the past 4 weeks. After losing to HB, they lost their 3rd straight to the Flames, giving up 26 goals in the 3 games. The Collective only had 5 runners this past Sunday for the first time this season. Rick Bartlett led his team's scoring for the day with 7 points, all assists, while Rick Haines and Mike Moore had the most goals with 3 each.

The Predators

The Predators went 0-3 this past Sunday, dropping them 5 points back of first place. They started the day with a 1-3 loss to HB, then a 1-4 loss to the Collective. They got more offence in their 3rd game of the day, scoring 7 goals, but still losing to the Flames who scored 9. They haven't had a losing record on a Sunday since the first week. It's the first time this season that the Predators went 0-3 for the week and had only lost 2 games in their last 9. Vince MacDonald led his team's scoring for the day with 6 points. Dale Lyons had the most goals with 3.
