Absence Of Players May Equal Absence Of Wins

Paul's Offensive Goaltending

The Collective

The Collective went 2-0-1 this past Sunday, recapturing 1st place with a 2 point lead. They started their day with a 9-3 win over HB. Grant Donovan had a hattrick in the game. He also had a hattrick in his first game last week. In their 2nd game, the Collective managed a 4-4 tie against the Predators. Paul Richard playing nets, had the only assist for his team. Paul had 6 points Sunday. Grant scored another hattrick in their final game against the Flames. The 8-4 win was avenging last week's 1-7 loss. Rick Haines had the most points for his team, this Sunday, with 10, and Grant had the most goals with 6.

The Predators

The Predators went 1-1-1 this week. They began their day with a tight game against HB, losing 4-5. Troy Doyle scored the hattrick in their 2nd game, to lead the Preds to an 8-2 win over the Flames. Their 3rd game ended in a 4-4 tie against the Collective. This was the Predators 11th tie of the season. Four different players scored for the Preds. Last week's tie was the only point taken from the Flames and this week's tie was the only point taken from the Collective. Art McCoy had the most points for his team, this week, with 8 while Troy Doyle had the most goals with 5.

The Flames

The Flames finished the day with a 1-2 record. They took a 2-8 loss against the Preds to start the day but rebounded with a 7-1 win over HB in their 2nd game of the day. Dennis Moffitt had the hattrick in the game. They finished the day with a 4-8 loss against the Collective. The Flames hadn't lost a game in the past 2 weeks but missing a couple of guys may have affected their game. The Flames are now 8 points back of 3rd place with 12 games left in the season. Dennis had the most points for his team this week with 9 and also had the most goals with 4.

The Hung and the Breastless

The Hung and Breastless finished with a 1-2 record for the day. Despite only having 5 runners they started the day with a 5-4 win over the Predators. Missing players must have caught up to them as they dropped their last 2 games, 1-7 and 3-9, giving up 1st place. It seems that the teams with the most players are winning the most games. A player mentioned Sunday that there is so little room between each team that missing a key player can have a major affect on the team. Dan LeBlanc, Shawn Phillips and James McKinnon led their team's scoring with 6 points and Dan had the most goals with 4.
