The Hung and The Breastless

The Hung and Breastless went 3-0 this week to close the gap on the Collective to 3 points. They started the day defeating them 5-4, then winning the next game 7-5 against the Predators on the strength of Doug Taylor's 4 goal game and Davie Mossman's hattrick. They won their final game, shutting out the Flames 6-0, with Darryl Moorcraft picking up the first shutout of the season, making some key saves late in the game. Doug and Ian Stevens led their team's scoring for the day with 9 points each. Doug had the most goals with 6.

The Predators

The Predators finished the day with a 2-1 record after going the previous 4 weeks with a 1-1-1 record. After dropping the first game to HB, they completely dominated their last 2 games with 6-1 and 11-1 wins. Mark Cress scored a hattrick in the 6-1 win against the Collective and Vince MacDonald had 4 goals and Dale Lyons had a hattrick to lead the way in their 11-1 win against the Flames. Kelvin Hoyt played well coming close to a shutout of his own in both the wins. Mark and Vince led their team in scoring with 9 points each, including 4 goals.

The Collective

The Collective went 1-2 for the day, which ended their streak of 6 games without a loss. After getting down early in the first game, they made it close with a couple of late goals, but took a loss. Mark Whitlock had a hattrick against the Flames in the Collective's only win on the day. Their final game they were held to a season low, one goal by the Predators in a 1-6 loss. The Collective dropped 4 pts in the standings and had their lead cut to 3 points ahead of 2nd place. Grant Donovan had the most points for his team, this week with 8, including 4 goals.

The Flames

The Flames went 0-3 this Sunday, being outscored 6-26, including a shutout given up to HB. Jim Taylor scored a hattrick in a 5-9 loss to the Collective, but the team only managed one goal in their next two games. With only 4 wins so far this season, the Flames are rapidly settling into 4th place for the winter. The Flames have used 3 different goaltenders in as many weeks and haven't had the same goalie in back to back weeks in the past five. Dennis Moffitt led his team with 5 points for the day while Jim had the most goals with 3.
