The Predators
The Predators started out the day looking for their first win of the season. They would have to do it against the undefeated HB guys. Kelvin Hoyt appearing in his first game of the season, played exceptional allowing only three goals to help the Predators to their first win with a 5-3 final. The Predators added two more wins on the day and moved ahead of the Collective into 2nd place. The Preds had a full team Sunday only missing Tony Roberts. Kelvin allowed 13 goals in the three wins and five players tied with 6 points for the day. Art McCoy had the most goals with 5, which included a hattrick. Kelvin, Mark Cress, and Scott Sheppard played their first games of the season. Welcome guys.
The Hung and the Breastless
The Hung and Breastless maintained 1st place going 2-1 for the day. After dropping the 1st game, they had very little trouble winning the next two with 8-4 and 9-4 scores. Peter Wolters had his 3rd hattrick of the season against the Collective. Dan LeBlanc also had a hattrick in the game. Dan added 2 more goals in the other games to lead his team's goal scoring with five. Shawn Phillips led his team in scoring with 10 points. HB's number one goalie, Darryl Moorcraft made his debut for the season allowing 13 goals with a 2-1 record. Davie Mossman also debuted with 6 points, including 2 goals. Welcome guys.
The Collective
The Collective began their first game with no captain. Rick Bartlett was about to miss his first game in the league. He's the last player to have played all games. After giving up a late winning goal, his team took the loss. Rick finally showed up late in the 2nd game with the team already down a few. He added some offence, but it was too little too late and they were 0-2 for the day. After re-organizing the troops the Collective finally turned it around winning their final game of the day 11-5. Grant Donovan scored 6 goals in the game to tie Peter Wolters record, set last week. Grant let his team's scoring for the day with 13 points, including 8 goals.
The Flames
The Flames also missing their captain, Trevor Graham, ended up with only 6 players, counting the goaltender, Terry McFadzen, who had to play nets in place of Richard Morneau. Missing Trevor, Terry, and Scott Praught on defense made it impossible to withstand the opposing team's offense and the Flames ended up 0-3 for the day. That makes it an 0-5 record for teams without their captain. Dennis Moffitt had a hattrick against the Predators and led the scoring for his team on the day with 11 points, including 6 goals.
